MTX (meaning: Metalex) is an automobile company from the Czech Republic. It was active locally with formula cars and racing cars since 1969. Originally, it was a repair shop for Škoda racers The first single-seater formula car ""MTX 1-01" appeared in 1970.

The MTX 2-03 Spider was constructed in 1977. It was an open racing two-seat spider, mid-engined in front of the rear axle, rear-wheel drive. The MTX 2-03 spiders came standard with VAZ 21011 engines: inline four-cylinder with OHC distribution, displacement 1294 cc, two double-barreled Weber carburettors, power 92 kW (125 hp) at 7000 rpm. Four-speed Škoda transmission, wheelbase 2350 mm, weight 530 kg, top speed approx. 220 km/h.
In total 10 chassis were built.

They used stronger engines in the next years.
The car, with a BMW engine and a five speed gearbox was ready for 1977. In 1977 Miran Velkoborský became one of the first (if not the first) Czech citizens to race outside the Republic for many years when he took the car to Germany for selected Interserie races.

The company stayed involved in constructing Skoda convertibles and made in 1990 the MTX roadster and MTX Cabrio and buggy’s. They also constructed a sedan, the Tatra MTX V8.
