During the 1974 season it became obviuos that the interest in the Interserie Championship was declining. Not only fewer spectators, but also a general loss of interest from the motorsport press. For 1975 the fields grew and regularly included several of the world championship winning works team Alfa T33s for serious 'names' like like Derek Bell and John Watson.
In 1975 effectively started of the Interserie two division system when whoever collected more points became overall winner. It was however the last year that the big CanAm cars were alllowed to participate.
