Sold to German saloon car racer Clemens Schickentanz through Jo Siffert, B21 chassis 12 was one of only two fitted in period with the BMW M12 engine. The other was the BMW works car driven successfully by Dieter Quester until it was destroyed in a high-speed crash.
Schickentanz raced the car with backing from Dahl-Kanal in the 1972 Interserie Championship. In 1974, the car passed into the hands of Georg Moritz, who used the B21 in the German based interserie races and hill-climbs for many years. To maintain competitiveness, he even fitted a six cylinder Porsche.
This Chevron was eventually acquired by German historic racer Ralf Lamberty, who had it restored to its original configuration. He used the car in the popular Steigenberger Cup during the 1990s. After a brief spell in New Zeeland, it was sold to Kevin Wilkins. He had the car repainted to its original colours before campaigning the BMW-engined machine in the Supersports series.
More recently, it was acquired by an American owner. He took the car to the 2010 and 2011 editions of the Monterey Motorsports Reunion
