Chassis 930 890 0016 was sold to Reinhold Joest in 1978, who entered it in both the World Endurance Championship and the German DRM series. At the 24 Hours of Le Mans that year, the car was sponsored by the Whittington Brothers, owners of the Road Atlanta circuit in the US. The race ended in a DNF, after which the car returned to DRM racing with Joest behind the wheel.
At the end of 1978, Joest crashed during practice at Hockenheim, injuring him and ending his active driving career. Although severely damaged, the chassis was not a total loss. The parts were removed and used for a new Joest chassis (009-0001J). In 1979, the original bodywork of 890-0016 was restored and entered by Volkert Merl in the DRM, while his regular car (890-0014) was updated. After returning to his own car, 890-0016 was stripped down again; the bare body was sold to John Lagodny (Luxembourg) via Jürgen Kannacher.
Lagodny combined the restored bodywork with parts from his crashed ex-Kremer 935 "K1" (chassis 00600019). He raced it in the Benelux Championship and European hillclimb races until the end of 1981, achieving 10 victories and numerous class wins.
In 1982, the car returned to Jürgen Kannacher, who entered a partnership with Heinz-Jürgen Dahmen for several DRM races and the Nürburgring 300 Interserie. Best result: P11. 930-890-0016 was then sold to Bo Strandell, a Porsche dealer in Helsingborg, Sweden. 1983: One race in the Swedish GT Championship with Anders Olofsson, who finished 3rd in Falkenberg after a pit stop. The car then ended up in a local museum until it was purchased in 1984 by British Porsche enthusiast John Greasley. Painted in Jägermeister orange, the car was leased through Greasley's company, G-Force, and raced at British circuits in the Pirelli Championship throughout the 1990s.
2005: Sold to Michael Foveny (Austria), who had the car fully restored and race-ready by Roitmayer GmbH (Germany).
Current condition: Original Liqui-Moly livery from Le Mans 1978. Active in Classic Endurance Racing since 2009, including participation in the 2014 Le Mans Classic.
