TECNO - PORSCHE

The Tecno-Porsche was a creation of Bernd Burger. It was originally a Tecno Formula 2, the Tecno chassis TOO286 from 1968. It raced mostly in the hands of Silvio Moser in the F2 between 1968 and 1971.
Like all racing cars, it was to change hands a few times, but it was when Bernd Burger got hold of the chassis in 1974 that it was decided to create a sports car.
The bodywork was from KMW that supplied this part of the car. At first fitted with a 1600cc engine, it was not long before this was swapped for a Porsche 911 engine, with which Burger raced the car until 1975.
Then it was acquired by Karl Langjahr, who raced the car in both hillclimbs and circuit races through to 1980, regularly competing in the International FIA Interserie races. It is said that after that, the car and engine went their separate ways, until relatively recent times when the car was recovered, restored, painted yellow, and had a Porsche unit installed again. The car still exists today.
