At the end of 1966 it was sold to Terry Drury. After being painted white with a black nose, it later was painted purple. It was used in Club races (a P02 in his first race at Brands Hatch in 1967) and in the 6 hours of Brands Hatch. Results: Drudy and K.Holland finished P14 overall and P3 in the class S+2.0. Earlier in the year, in April, Drury and Jacky Oliver retired in the 1000 km Monza.

After the Gold Cup 1967 it changed owners and became property of George Humble. He raced P1005 in the UK and in the 1000 km Spa with B.Smith (DNF). In  august 1968 the car came in the possession of Robin Darlington, who did only 1 race.

In 1969 under yet another owner it became a road registered car. It had numerous dealers and was resprayed in Gulf colours before being sold to Salt Walther, son of George Walther, in the USA. George Walther fielded an Indycar team from the mid/late 50's off-and-on through the mid 80's.
His garage caught fire and the remains were dumped behind the race shop. But in 2002 these remains (basically a few exposed small parts and ownership rights to the chassis number GT40P/1005) were auctioned and by 2003 the rebuilding of chassis 1005 ( based on the tubes numbers!) began. The body work was again painted red.

It remains not clear if the true P1005 chassis does really is racing.
Because Goodwood 2025 -P1005 licence plate FAV216C  and  6h Spa 2024 P1005 had licence plate GIG43.
